Now that I've had my coffee......

Comparing the shutter wheel orientation w/respect to rotor/hall sensor/drive dog position:

Three "sets" of distributors; 85 & 87 16v 900t - 88 & 89* 9000t (*might be a 900, my marker smudged) - two mystery units lacking vac canisters (one marked 88' w/mid style harness plug, so EZK & one unlabeled, but w/newest style harness plug, so prob also EZK) + a single 8v 900t unit.

All of the shutter wheels within the "sets" seemed to be identically oriented w/the rotor, hall sensor & drive dog. Each "set" differed from the other, incl the 8v unit.

I have to surmise from this that the shutter wheel position DOES determine crankshaft position (via the camshaft) & directly affect injector timing (exc for the 8v).

Bummer.

Fooling around w/repositioning the keyed shutter is likely to be tricky & something I'll save for another day.

Last question..........with the exception of the different key position between different applications - are all 16v distributor sensor/shutters the same, irrespective of year & Hall vs EZK?
