Bear in mind that I'm still slightly confused (confusing?) on this subject.
I'm somewhat confidant that to maintain correct ignition timing, the rotor has to be properly oriented w/the camshaft...so the drive dog would have to be relocated. However, I'm extremely confident that in order to maintain correct ignition AND injector timing, the shutter wheel of the project/modified distributor must be in the exact same position on the shaft in relationship to the rotor as it is on the original unit as well.
The former is no biggie, but In order to effect the later, I'd have to leave the key pin off & JB Weld the wheel on (got that idea from the "Red & Green" show ;) - Or, try to fit a worn down Dremmel cut off wheel (prob breaking a dozen) down along the shaft & grind out a new keyway...in exactly the right spot. I'll pass for now....but I double dare you to do it!
