If I get any more intimate with this car, my wife is going to sue for adultery. I've been all over it, and all up in it. Every Bentley test run, codes pulled, connectors probed, firing order triple checked, EZK box & amplifier replaced with known good ones, good wires, rotor, no vacuum leaks, AIC checked carefully, and on and on. '92 900s 'vert 2.1L N/A 5 spd. Symptoms: first attempt to start- turns over fast, never starts. Second, third tries, it is sloo-o-oow (like it can't tell where # 1 is- fighting against it's own compression). Fourth attempt, it is slow but starts. THEN, to keep it running, throttle must be kept slightly open- at least 1200rpm or it dies a shuddering death. Seems to rev fine- over 1200rpm, but anything below that- no way. Idle screw adjusted. OK as long as over 1200 rpm.
HERE'S THE WEIRD THING, and WHAT I NEED TO KNOW: The timing light reveals 0 (and 14 deg) way over at 2:00 o'clock (over toward driver's side as viewed from front of car). NO AMOUNT OF TURNING OF THE DIST HAS ANY EFFECT WHATSOEVER ON THIS POSITION. WTH! I pulled the crank pulley tonight, shutter wheel, CKP sensor is fine (fairly new). Good signals from CKP sensor, throttle potentiometer checks out fine. ANY WORDS OF WISDOM OR ADVICE WILL BE AN ANSWER TO MANY PRAYERS!
