If a car gets old enough it will become a collectors item. I can remeber when a lot of charished collector cars were just old used cars. Hell I had a '65 Mustang when it was just a cheap used car and can remeber when there were plenty of cheap, raggy mid-60's Vettes and XKEs around cheap (under $1500). I once bought a drivable Healey 3000 for $350. and almost bought a 356 Coupe for $1600 and a cherry Sunbeam Tiger for $1200. I've watched a lot of cars make that transition over the years and Saab C900's were showing all the signs of going that way until our recent economic catastrophy. In the midwest they're nearly impossible to find and even dealers who know nothing about imported cars or Saabs were asking surprising prices when they'd accidently stumble over one. Alas it's all on hold at the moment but if you want a C900, now's the time to get one and if you have one hang onto it unless you absolutely have to sell. Even now real cream puffs bring pretty amazing money and assuming the economy gets back on track that trend will continue. They won't ever quite be a '55 T Bird (they weren't cheap even in the '60s)but they will bring surprising money in a few year--don't get left out.
