How do I describe how much I enjoy my drive to work? 62 miles round trip, almost all of it highway driving. I have a 1992 900S sedan with an automatic. I've had other Saabs: a 1967 2-stroke 96, a 1972 99E (loved it) and several other 900s.

My current 900 is mechanically almost perfect, it has no rust issues, the interior is clean (I just replaced the front leather seat covers) and everything currently works as intended, er, as much as they can on our great cars. The ABS and SRS lights are on, the wipers don't work on the intermittent setting and the car still makes loud noises from the suspension when going over bridge expansion joints at 70mph. If you have suggestions on how to fix these issues, let me know. I've read and used the posts pretty religiously.

That being said, I really look forward each morning and night to the drive. 900's drive like a very fast, very nimble tank in my experience. No drama (unless you go looking for the edges of the envelope) with great engine/exhaust notes.

With Connecticut's current weather I can set the heat on low and crack open the sunroof about halfway (unless it's raining) for just the right amount of warmth and exposure to the elements without all the wind noise.

What made me want to write about my commute this morning was that I was engaging in one of my favorite hobbies: watching other cars that interest me and see how they handle and look at speed on the road (as well as how bad or how well their owners drive). This morning I tracked a black Audi A8 because I always loved the movie The Transporter and the way the Audi gets driven in the movie. In this car I was expecting to see a captain of industry (that's what you usually see driving black A8's) but was happy to see someone who looked to be in their 30's and you could tell was enjoying their commute as well -- you can see it in their facial expression. Also, he was actively looking at and appreciating my car -- so you know he was intelligent. Again, I don't have an SPG with a whale tail and perfect Edwardian Gray paint; I have a well cared-for, great looking 900 that blasts down the highway at 75mph when traffic permits. I appreciate the fact that someone else in a -nice- car notes my car is out of the ordinary and worth a closer look.

So if you drive the commute in CT on I-95 or I-91 and see a green 900S 4-door on the road, that might be me. If I look like I'm enjoying the ride, it probably IS me.
