I'll chime in. I have driven new Escalades, hummer, 300c, Lincolns, etc..for a limo company. These vehicles were smooth, and floaty, with less effort to accelerate: especially the 300c with the Hemi engine.
Guess what? and I am still trying to figure it out, and it always played out the same.
After a day of driving those vehicles, walking back from the depot; the image appeared:
A weird, unique "work of art" shape across the street: a shape that I have personally known since 1986, a shape that I have washed and still wash with a ridiculous deep seated pride, a shape that I have washed in various colors. That shape is a 900. Is it the rake rear??? Is it the sleek nose?? or could it be that sharp line that starts at the front mirror and elevates slightly that ends with a reverse crescent? What about those four tailights, the rubber spoiler, and that large back glass?
Back to the story:
After opening and closing the door, a conveniet armrest at the door, the key between the seats, the airplane cockpit, the familiar engine sound as it rumbles, B, H, 16valve: I'll take them all.
After a long hard day of work, I felt like I was in the company of a good old friend, you sick 900 fools! First gear, pull off... Second gear..Turbo, third gear, handling. Anticipation...work being placed in to make the car perform well-addictive, enjoyable work. Compact, narrow-just right.
Only in a 900, the best Saab ever created you sick diehard zealous Saabnuts!
