Hi Dave, I looked at either buying new leather skins for my front seats or having them made and just got discouraged at the prices. I finally started stopping in junk yards along my commute path whenever I could; I found a driver seat and a passenger seat in separate yards that were in -way- better shape than my seats and just removed the seat cushions off the frames, bolster cushions and all. Once you do it once and see how they are attached, it takes about 10 minutes per seat to do cautiously so nothing gets damaged. About the same time to re-install on your seat frames in your car.
And the best part? Each seat cost me about $40, so $80 total for great looking replacements. I could have taken the whole seat from each donor car and made it a little easier, but that would have more than doubled what I paid.
Good parts cars are out there, you just need to look for them and not get frustrated.
