It is not so much intuition-it simply goes more smoothly with tools designed for the job. That tool costs about 25.00. Why would I waste time spinning the clutch around with a metal tube, jambing and hammering? Once the clutch is compressed, the correct tool snaps in in with a lovely snap in seconds-done. Now, if the tool was 300.00-the surely improvision! Some tools are simply worth having- the crankshaft wrench, even though one can use a breaker bar, and a modified socket. Also, the shift pin removal tool even though a punch can be used, definitely the clutch tool, etc. I even plan to blow money on the spring compressor tool that costs a couple of hundred, instead of taking chances, and wasting time with cheap twenty dollar compressor. Surely, my two cents here, for you are probably great in improvision. Best
