Very good point, and again TZ you're responding to criticism with anger. You want Saabnet's collective support? Earn it.
1. Did Walter or did Walter not call your son's attention to the low oil note?
2. Did your son or did your son not either instruct Walter to fill it, or then go fill it himself?
And as ANY court in these here United States are concerned, if Walter noted the transmission was low and nothing was done, the blame is on your son. If your son said, "Hey, thanks Walter, can you go ahead and fill that up?" Walter would have charged him $100, three quarts of oil and given him an invoice for it. You don't have that invoice because your son never ordered the repair. He then drove 915 miles with "low transmission oil." And blew up the tranny, and now you are trying to blame Walter.
Or, maybe your son is handy with a wrench and went to Autozone and bought the transmission oil himself. That's plausible. So he put one quart... two quarts... just shy of three quarts of oil in his transmission and that should have triggered an alarm. WHY AM I PUTTING THREE QUARTS OF OIL IN MY TRANSMISSION? Maybe the transmission was leaking, or maybe Walter DID drain it out! Either way, your son fixed the problem when Walter noted it. And THEN you lost it all again in 915 miles and the transmission seized. Who's fault is it for not keeping their eye on the tranny? You son.
I'm not Siegfried up there, I was raised to call a spade and spade. Here goes: Your son ran out of talent on this one, and there is no court in the state that is going to see otherwise. Give it up - this is not reflecting good on you and shame on you for trying to pin it on Walter.
