If you can find a known good motor, I would say swap it.
I replaced my engine (225k) during my trans swap and have no regrets. Even tho my old engine "ran good", the new engine is a big improvement.
The problem with opening up the motor is that you are likely to find things that need attention and you can end up with "scope creep". If you think you will keep the car 10 more years, rebuild it. Otherwise I would just find a clean, low milage, late model engine and do the swap.
