I used POR-15 manifold paint on the turbo and manifold. Before it was painted it was sandblasted with black beauty blast media and thoroughly degreased. It still looks good now, but I expect I may have to do some touching up/recoating at some point.
The turbo heat shield was painted with the POR-15 manifold paint as well, but while it was still wet I sponged it with silver 1200-degree paint to give it a zink galvanizing look. That was an experiment, and it still looks good. I'm pleasantly surprised it held up well.
Other parts like motor mounts and such got sandblasted, degreased, POR-15ed and then top coated (mainly with Eastwood's Gold Cad system to look like cadmium plating). Some other parts just got blasted, polished and top coated with POR-15 clear. Anything that gets a lot of heat can't get regular POR-15 because it will yellow over time. Even if you topcoat it.
Manifolds and head also got port-matched and polished. Put in new valve seals, lapped and polished the valves.
The job took about two weeks of evenings and weekends, including sprucing up the engine bay while the motor was out.
Some parts during the engine restore process:
