2nd followup to ABS anti-lock light fault Posted by Roger D [Email] (#1121) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Roger D) on Thu, 7 Jul 2011 09:12:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last week I posted about replacing a wheel speed sensor and the anti-lock light went out. I started out on a road trip. A couple hours out the light reappeared. Then it went out, then on, etc. A couple days later I put it in a well known indie shop in the Northwest They said the only code is 4444. That indicating there are no faults. Brakes feel fine. They explained the wheel sensors magnets get weak with age and can trigger transient anti-lock light episodes, especially when the car gets warmed up after a few miles of driving. I'll replace the other front sensor and clean the ones in the back. That's about all I'll do. Maybe remove the light if it won't stay off.
