I've pulled out my head/mani as one unit...but I'd replaced my bolts and had pulled my turbo tons of times, so that was easy to get off.
THe turbo is what, 15 lbs.? The manifold is about the same. The head is about 40-50 lbs.
You can probably pull them all off together.... I padded the entire engine area with dog-blankets so that IF I dropped it, or needed to set it down after separating from the block, it was a soft landing.
This is also good insurance for when you replace it.
BE FORWARNED! THose exhaust manifold bolts are super finicky, and can EASILY break off inside the head. That saying "IF it ain't broke, don't fix it" should be ringing in your ears. In a perfect world, pushrodsaab is right...it'd be a lot easier to get at those turbo bolts with the manifold off.
ALSO, DO what Turbocon86 says...replace bolts with stainless high quality bolts, nuts, washers. USE anti-seize too. liberally. who cares if it burns off a bit.
Oh, and remember, this is fun!
