Yep-regularly drive 1000+mile roadtrips in my 88's Posted by nicknick [Email] (#731) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nicknick) on Sun, 5 Feb 2012 10:55:02 In Reply to: Road trip, aka Arabiflora, Sat, 4 Feb 2012 00:05:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
but it does help to know what is and isn't maintained under the hood.
Usually setup a 12v cooler on the back seat, wire in a triple port 12v adaptor in the glovebox, hook up the satnav and sat radio, and we are good to go!
I take a full toolkit, with the extra long 3/8" extension for messing with the shifter linkage, 12v jump starter pack (with compressor), and a full compliment of parts. Fuel pump, distributor, alternator, starter, ignition amplifier, ecu, plus most hoses and belts. I pick the most complicated looking hoses to carry, like the lower rad hose. Regular stuff you can find on the road. Don't forget that Bently! Also like to have some repair materials like cable ties (good ones), wire, JB weld, duct tape, bungees, a tow rope, flashlights, etc.
This has done me pretty well so far, and i plan on a cross country (seattle to new york) next month.
And always blink lights and wave at other C900's!
