First, congrats on your new-to-you car.
Get that rear seam separation taken care of. When that leaks, it leaks both into the trunk and into the well behind the back seat. If there is water in that well, condensation will destroy your interior. The only sure-fire way to fix it is to replace the whole rear curtain. That can be done without replacing the whole top. Before you go that route, you can try re-bonding it yourself and see if it holds up. The fabric is bonded to the glass at the factory with some kind of special treatment, but I have had luck on a couple cars bonding it back on with the special glue that is used to hold the little metal button to the windshield that some car's rear view mirrors are attached to. You can get it at most auto parts stores. Get a couple, as they don't give you that much in a single applicator. Preparation is important! Easiest to do the job with two people. One inside the car applying pressure and one outside doing same. After you glue it, run a thin bead of silicone along the top edge to keep water out in the future. And avoid high-pressure car washes.
