it is 9 nuts to remove: 1 at the shock, 2 at the lower ball joint, and 6 that hold the A-arm to the chassis. Put in the one-inch spacers described in Bently (I use a scrap piece of wood) to support up the upper A-arm, jack it up and do the swap - easy. Takes about an hour at most.
If you live in DC, I've got a spare I can loan you quickly to get your car back on the road. This happened to me and I decided to replace both sides with reinforced rally models ($295 + shipping for both sides):

They also sell a reinforcing kit for both sides for $35 (bring your own welder).
