Agreed. Get her what she wants and you can keep what you want. My wife has hated the c900s since before we were married. She is a quality time person and sees the saabs as competition. That's just how she is - it's not an easy thing to change. But then, I love my Saabs and i'm not planning on changing either. So this spring, I bought her her dream car. A Nissan xterra. That made her very happy and now she is much more patient with my saab addiction. Funny thing - the Xterra was supposed to be the car that ended all cars. She was also sick of me having to repair the saabs all the time. Well after less than a week, the xterra broke down and had to be towed. Fuel pump gave out. I have had 8 Saabs since we were married and never once had to get one towed. Go figure. Anyway, now she has decided she hates the gas mileage in the xterra anyway and wants to sell it. I love the gas mileage in the saabs.
The other thing to keep in mind (as a veteran of 2 full years of marraige), marraige is a compromise for both parties involved. Some girls tend to think that its always the guys that need to change to solve the problem. Not true at all. It took a while for my wife to realize that she is not infallible nor is she in fact always right. It really levelled the playing field and improved our marraige when she started to change as well.
Third and last point, Saabs are not a bad thing. Think about it - it could be worse. I tell my wife, at least I'm not hooked on video games (no offense meant if you are). Yeah I do put a lot of time into working on my Saabs, but it's a constructive hobby that hones a valuable skill, it's SOOOOO much cheaper than any other car (especially if you do your own repairs), and by selling spare parts, it ends up paying for itself for the most part. I have kept a spreadsheet since we got married of all the money that I have spent on the Saabs and how much money I have made selling the spare parts or the cars when I am finished. It is pretty close to even (thanks mainly to two free SPG parts cars that were given to me last year). So in the long run, she really has no reason to be mad at the saabs except for the time they take me away from her. By balancing out time with the Saabs with time spent with her (make sure she comes first), even that has tapered off. And I can keep 4 Saabs. Good luck!
