I have done the fuel pump once. It requires some work as its under the removable wood floor in the trunk then accessed through a removable metal plate about 5 inches in diameter with a rubber seal around it. Before we go there check fuses in the fuse box L side of engine compartment. If they seem OK and you have tried starting recently open the fitting at the front of the fuel rail. You will a 17mm open end/socket or socket for the fitting and a 19mm open end wrench for the fuel ril. from the L side of the engine you will turn the front fuel rail fitting away from you or from the radiator counter clockwise. Careful not to move the entire fuel rail. Fuel if pump is working will be under pressure so watch your eyes and have no open flame or spark. If no fuel it doiesn't necessarally mean the pump isn't working although not hearing it as usual may be a good indicator it isn't. However the fuel may not be getting to the fuel rail as quickly as usual as the fuel feed line check valve right above the pump may not be holding fuel in the rail. This results in a longer cranking time to get the fuel up to the fuel rail and injectors. Do these few checks and get back to the site for further input if needed.
