remember the spring is inside the fenderwell, and the UCA mounts/shims are inside the engine bay. I would not advise hammering, but I've got a 2 jaw puller and it seems that might have enough room to pull those bushing supports off each end of the UCA.
I understand spring energy, believe me. Almost killed myself in my early 20's working on an old Chevy Nova rear leaf springs and just about had the car crush me. Too soon old, too late smart!
I'm going to put the strut compressors on one tonight and see if I can "contain the energy". I'll update this thread. I've never used the pic image options....hmmmm...
