it's pretty straight forward, especially compared to the next version. check the depth of the pump before you pull it from the rubber "cone" and also be SURE to check the clocking of the prepump pickup. it needs to be oriented the same way, and as I recall it is different before a year X than later all with that style pump. a flex driver (7 or 8 mm) through the hole to the right and rear of the pump (often a rubber plug there) to loosen the clamp on the pump makes removal easy. Not having the "correct" tool to hold the pump and back the banjo bolt off the pump I use a pair of needle nose vice grips onto the fuel fitting to hold it in place, and then take a deep reach socket over the nut with a 1/2 driver and then.... I give the ratchet a sharp rap (think manual impact drive) to break it lose, and do the same to replace. just be careful to not kink the nylon fuel line. again, be sure to pay attention to the clocking of the pickup on the prepump so you orient the same when you put it back together.
