Gotta read your Ebay several times a day! I think the pump is a likely culprit - I can imagine that an accumulator starts to go and the owner does nothing leading to it having to work overtime and get abnormally worn out. On the other hand, My car has been displaying this odd overheating for 100K miles with no other issues.
I am intrigued by the post about switching the tips - might give that a try as well. I am setting up the electric cooler I made to be on demand, so I'll know it if I try switching out a component and the problem persists.
I also wonder about the seals in the main body (core) of the ABS master cylinder. It seems remarkable that this unit has lasted 218,000 miles when I've never had an ordinary MC last more than a 100K. I did buy a brand new ABS MC core last year ($300) from a dealer going out of business (still sealed in a foil vacuum packaging), so I can try this out too.
Like, Justin, I am not exactly sure how the thing works - guess I've got to read my factory repair manual and start figuring this out.
