Looks cool! (no pun intended... You had the dame idea as I've been tossing around. I hadn't figured out how I was going to mount the cooler. There is enough space for the fan between the bomb and the fender? It looks tight in there with wires & sheet metal and whatnot. That is/was a concern I had as well.
I have used the Reatta bomb from Gm parts direct. I DID swap the valve end piece over from the old bomb to the new one.
It's a soft metal. As you're removing it, pry gently and try and keep it even side to side as you go. If you cock it it will not move. I used a couple of jeweler's screwdrivers as the pry slot is small. And if I recall, it's a shallow half moon sort of slot.
It DID NOT stop the overheat condition. I was replacing the bomb because I got the lights after two stomps on the pedal. The times it does overheat are very hot days in slow/stop-n-go traffic as others have mentioned.
Do you ever get the lurch-to-the-left fun when emergency stopping (or a stomp and hold on brakes from speed)? It seems like the block is not moving one of the valve pistons and your r/h front brake is not grabbing as hard.
If others have had the two issues on their cars, perhaps that is a possible connection.
Is the manual you got the 5:2 ABS one?
Mark :-)
