Electrical issue? Posted by Haskell60 [Email] (#1511) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Haskell60) on Wed, 9 Apr 2014 19:49:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi there - so I have new issue with my project car (92 Turbo 900), aside from the mechanical issues that I've gotten some helpful tips on (thank you!).
Here goes: My car has the engine, tranny and wiring harness from a 90 SPG that had rusted out. After about a year of driving, the inside electronics stopped working, despite battery charge (dome light still worked however). The car sat for a year until I had it repaired last week. The mechanic said a wire had melted and it caused a bad ground. He said the wire went into the fuse box under the steering wheel.
Car ran great until two odd things today. When I started it up, and intermittently for the first 20 minutes, I smelled a burning rubber smell. After about 25 minutes, my radio cut out briefly, antenna started to retract, then it went right back up. This happened one additional time on my 20 minute ride home.
Thought/ideas?
Thanks, Rich
