If you do that, check the radio that comes out for a wiring diagram. It's a royal pain trying to figure out which wire goes where after someone else has been in there. Had to do this on my 900. Someone cut out the factory plugs, and crimped in a replacement stereo. Fortunately, the replacement (not working when I got the car) had a wiring diagram on it, so I cut the wires right at the back of the unit thereby preserving the wire colors that came out of it, and did my re-wire one at a time - cutting off the crimped on piece, and putting a new one in place. Oh - and unless someone already bypassed it, the factory stereo had an amp under the rear seat for the rear speakers. This can cause problems using the factory wiring for the rears. I just ran new rear speaker wires under the carpet, as I had the center console out at the time, so no big deal to do so.
