I used sound-proofing insulation (looks like a roll of shiny silver bubble wrap)…but the road noise is louder still. But that could be my bosal exhaust and the fact that I rip it to 4500RPMs…If you're digging into it, do as Snowmobile did, repair ANY rust in that belly.
I also have found that water can get into the interior via the front door seals, at the firewall region where the two different seals meet up…make sure they're supple, and not pinched there.
I have four RECARO car seats, two in each of the SAABs. They're stupid expensive (especially when you multiply by 4), but honestly, they're badass. They hold kids from 1yr thru 90lbs, 5pt harness, locks the kids in there comfortably…
Search "RECARO performance sport"…
I went with Peg Perego too for the infant seat…great combo with the stroller that maneuvers like a cadillac on sidewalks, etc. No complaints, 2 kids went through this setup.
Props to you for rescuing a NA c900. I don't get it, but rock on, man, with your bad self.
Good luck with the kid, preparation is futile.
