UPDATE - Per Seig, I unplugged the ABS brain…. which sure took me awhile to get around to! Finally popped out the backseat, peeled down the carpeting, and the ABS controller is on the pass. side. Disconnected it. test drive.
Same result! Under hard braking situations, one of my left tires is still locking up! I'd swear it was the LR, but the wifey thinks it was the LF. Regardless, sans ABS control, the hardware is still locking up a corner, causing the back end to step out (the rear actually swerves to the left).
SInce I worked on this baby last fall, I turned both rear rotors to be 100% sure they had the same surface condition and both were flat. Also mentioned in the later comments, the rear dampers were changed to a low mile set of Turbo Boges.
Well, in my mind now I'm wondering if actually one of the FRONT calipers is locking up. Since the rears get a single point of feed, I don't believe any pressure differential at those rear calipers is possible. When I bought this convert, I noticed that both front hoses had been changed. I'm wondering if those replacement hoses might be plugged on one side? Or could something be shifting in the ABS block itself, causing unequal pressure between the front calipers?
