Findings - rear suspension disassembly & inspection.... Well the old shocks are out....the bad news that I hoped to find, but didn't, was they appeared to be AOK inspite of 22 years of age. Look like OEM blue shocks with red stripe. Driver side was a real bugger, bottom bolt rusted within the shock steel sleeve. Now both seemingly fine shocks have been removed. Containing both springs on the lower control arms, while releasing the bolts to lower the rear sway is just short of a Houdini trick! But I prevailed.
293~295mm long springs (turbo chassis) look just fine. A fellow SAAB junkie here sold me his +13mm spring spacers (blue poly - STATEOFNINES I believe) to attempt to level the "boot" of my convertible with the front. The have gone in just fine as well.
This weekend I should have the rear axle reinstalled with new BOGE rear shocks (sport touring, NOT Turbo gas as I thought - thanks eEuro). They are AOK, only had about 5K miles on my sons 89 (RIP).
NO visual damage to the rear brake lines at the axle!? Rear NAPA rebuild calipers and pads look just fine, only got about 10 hours driving time on them. My REAR rotors however will be coming out, just to ensure they are not causing this LR locking issue. Will remove and carry to my local rotor turning muffler shop ($10 each), so long as they are well clear of the 7.5mm minimum. Due diligence I expect, no stone unturned.....
Once all this is completed, I will bleed the rear brakes again, reset the ABS ECU as Zig recommended. Another panic stop simulation will be scheduled immediately to check condition.
If the locking LR tire/brake still exists after all this, then I will buy the brake pressure gauge set which installs into the bleeder hole ($45 Amazon). I can see no other possibility than unequal pressure from side to side, considering both rears are supplied by a single line! All fittings are quite rusty, so it might be easier to just buy a complete southern RUST FREE axle and install into my suspension.
I will update with FINDINGS Round 2......
