Once I pulled the shaft out, the slave, compression plate and clutch came out quite easily. Just jacked some screw drivers between clutch and flywheel to get it off pins. Slave slid out of its seat easily. Couldn't figure out how to lock flywheel so read the search extensively. Someone commented to use the Saab tire iron between teeth next to starter housing. Used a zip tie on a throttle body protrusion to hold it vertical. There was also a suggestion in the archives to rise the front on the car on jacks so you're not bending over so severely - wish I had done this.
