Most problem in messing with the high pressure steering hose is getting it to go back in the rack. The threads on the hose are super fine and the threads in the rack are super fine also. What I mean by super fine is the hose can get cross threaded very easy and with such fine threads you would never know the hose Is cross threaded until the rack strips out all its precast threads, and if this happens the rack is shot. Most shops won't mess with the high pressure line just because if this.
The metal high pressure line is precast bent to huge up to the rack after install and this makes it extremely hard to know if the threads are cross threaded or not before tighting. Removal is very easy but it's the instal hose to rack that's not really a pain but more of the knowing if its right. Thing to do is spray the rack hole where the hose bolts in with pb blaster and spray the threads on the line with pb blaster and finger tighten the line in all the way don't use any tools until the bolt is in. When its cross threaded it will seem like the bolt is just snug rusted and a quick spin with a wrench is all it needs. If you feel this back the bolt out and set it again. The bolt will spin in easy when its right.
If it gets cross threaded its new rack time. I replaced my high pressure line in 30min it's not to hard just be carful
