Not yet planning on using the bunk rebuild Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Sun, 22 Feb 2015 18:55:20 In Reply to: Re: it's a Saab but it no c900, Snowmobile [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 22 Feb 2015 17:12:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The motor in the spg now is from my 91 parts car. wanted to see if it ran, and it dose. The parts car motor has 120,000 miles and looks to have a brand new head on it. So plans are to install the new fuel pump in the 9000 areo along with struts first, then pull the spg in the garage and pull the motor, attach the 88 trans that was rebuilt to the 91 motor along with the 91 Mitsubishi turbo. The purchase of the parts car was for parts, its motor, and the post 88 trans ( beafier pinion ) but removing the motor from the parts car came with a surprise. The 91 parts car had a pre 86 transmission on it with no shifter shaft centering spring so taking the car out of gear the stick shift just flops around (very annoying)
The Indy that rebuilt the spg's trans swears it was rebuilt correctly, but when one uses a screwdriver to shift the trans thru the gears every time 1st and 3rd is shifted into sounds like something inside the trans hits the rear cover plate. I spoke with C-Myles about this and he couldnt even guess on what's making the sound. What ever is hitting it Im sure it will break thru the rear cover plate when I go and slam the stick into 3rd running head to head with someone.
Might as will have some fun with it and if it breaks fk it. because currently the trans is just sitting in the corner doing nothing. On top of this the spg needs paint lots and lots of fun before the car gets back to my daily driver.
