The slave needed to be rebuilt, due to a worn clutch pedal pivot. When i replaced the clutch pedal, the slave was now moving through a greater travel, and a month later, the seals went.
Took everything apart, using the '3 nuts' method (worked great!), and stripped the slave. Everything looked good, but dirty. Cleaned her up nicely, let everything dry for a few hours ( i used brake cleaner to clean up the aluminum), then installed a set of o rings that i bought from eeuro a couple of years ago. I lubed the seals with brake fluid, but it was kind of hard pushing the 2 pieces back together. Not super hard, but firmer than i expected. Clutch bled up great, very quickly, actually.
Now the clutch feels less silky than before, kind of like it is being dragged through a bucket of molasses, and it will slip when i get over base boost. Before i pull everything apart again, i would like to hear your opinions on what went wrong. My thought is that somehow one of the o rings rolled and is binding in there, causing the slave to not fully retract. Any other ideas???
