I assume you mean temporarily for testing purposes...
I've done this. You can't really close the hood all the way or it will pinch off the fuel line to the gauge. I just propped the gauge up against the windshield where I could see it and closed the hood so that it connected to the safety catch in front. That should pinch the hose just enough to hold the gauge in place. Then I put a couple tennis balls between the front lip of the hood and the radiator surround to keep the hood tight against the catch and keep it from bobbing. The last thing you want to happen is the hood open and slide forward when you hit your brakes.
You could also use the hood adjustments at the front (atop the radiator surround) to open the gap between the edge of the hood and the cowl so that it doesn't over-pinch the fuel line and then close the hood fully. Then you'll have to readjust the hood afterwards.
