If it was me I'd just pull the tank and clean it out. They really aren't that bad to remove. Waaay easier than the tank on my wife's Buick which I had out last week. Having said that it would seem a real mechanic would be likely to check fuel pressure before doing that. I wish every C900 Saab owner had an Actron banjo bolt with the integral Schrader valve. They are about $3 + shipping. With a fuel pressure gauge you can have a direct pressure reading in seconds.
