I'd start with replacing the gas. Also, try starting fluid to see if it starts.
Not sure that it matters, but what year, just curious.
My 87 vert clatters if it hasn't been started in a few months. I disconnect the battery and this seems to have cured the dead battery issues I've had.
As tweetie said, make sure grounds and cables are ok. A quick check I've had luck with is to turn on headlights while trying to crank engine. Good grounds and battery will result in hardly dimming the headlights.
I would try not to replace a whole lot of things until you zero in on the cause of your non-start. Doing so just introduces errors into the process.
Non start is only about 3 things, fuel, ignition, electrical (battery).
Don't have any suggestions on the oil leak, sorry.
Good luck
