In the past it would have been. There was always at least one '90 or later 900 in one of the pick-n-pulls around here.
Now, it's slim pickins. The big 3 don't have any 900s or 9000s and the other one only has an '87. The closest other one in Birmingham, which had a 9k with Super Aeros and a 900 with an Aero kit when I stopped by last year, has nothing.
Around here, anyway, it looks like we're getting to the rightmost end of the bell curve.
So, I have my coil of 3/16" NiCopp, can of PB Blaster, and all of the other fun things associated with this job and spent Saturday morning soaking all of connectors and the bleeder nipple trying to get them to turn.
Here's a photo of where the line popped. Looks like 2 things happened:
- The clips that hold the rubber brake line isolator to the axle rusted away and let the line vibrate, fatigue, and crack the epoxy coating.
- Salt collected around the rubber isolator and it did what salt does to steel.
That fitting that holds the line to the tee is a bear to get at.
