I had Bridgestone re970's on one of our 9-5's and they were pretty good. For real world driving, they were as good as the Pilot Super Sports I was running prior and definitely lasted a little better. Hopefully you will like your new setup.
I agree with Steven - the weak point on these cars are the transmissions more so than brakes. You'll need to be careful if you add power or that's what will go, and it's definitely not a cheap or easy thing to have to dig into.
