Thanks for the input.
The wheel/tire retailer called me today and said they don’t have any of those wheels available to them in the nation:( He is going to do some research and get back to me on what he can get in stock.
Fortunately, thus far I have had good luck with my glass transmission. I am the 2nd and 4th owner of this particular car. I owned it for 12 years the first time around and am getting it back from my friend in a week. I will be putting a Quaife LSD in it along with freshening it up. I may also swap in an autobahn gear/final drive if I can find one. The thought has crossed my mind to swap it to a 4speed for the modest improvement in strength. I will try to do anything I possibly can to strengthen it short of dumping the synchromesh. Honestly I am surprised that the transmission has not grenaded yet. When it was at its peek state of performance and mods, it had to have had at least 300hp. It was the fastest 900 the dealer had ever seen at the time.
The motor has low compression now and is in need of some serious love. The trans and motor will be worked on soon, but I have to get it mobile 1st.
The standard brakes on these cars suck IMHO. I have managed to boil clean brake fluid in this car during aggressive back road driving. The brakes were working fine until they reached their thermal limit then disappear completely. Fortunately they cooled just enough that some braking returned before I rear ended the car in front of me. I was doing 70mph down hill at the time. After that I vowed to never race down hill in that car unless I upgraded to a big brake kit.
