Strange idle behavior while coasting Posted by McFly88DmC [Email] (#2934) [Profile/Gallery] (more from McFly88DmC) on Wed, 17 Jun 2020 10:39:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello there,
I have been having a very strange, ongoing issue with my '92 2.1L 900. Occasionally while driving, the shift-up light will stay illuminated when I push in the clutch. When this happens, the RPMs stay around 2000 until the car slows down to less than 5MPH. This occurs if I shift to neutral and coast as well.
I replaced the Jetronic ECU with a used one awhile back without change in behavior. I don't think the throttle is sticking since the revs drop as soon as the car slows down to almost a stop, but I will go ahead and clean it anyways. The only other things I can think of are the Idle Air Control, Throttle Position Sensor, or Vehicle Speed Sensor (behind speedometer). I don't really want to blindly throw parts at it but I am getting frustrated.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? I am just about out of ideas.
I would be grateful for any clues or pointers!!
