Thanks so much for your thoughts! I checked the return line at the pressure regulator (as described in Bentley's): There was no gas coming out when taking it off, but almost immediately lots of fuel when cranking. So the fuel pump is OK, but the return valve is not? But she shouldn't have to crank for that excruciating long time then...
With Roger D's experience it doesn't make sense to replace the return valve then, but the problem is somewhere else. Any more ideas?
