Hi Rob,

My info is a little dated (2003-2011), but possibly helpful:

1. Saabtech LLC, 208 N 21st St, Richmond, VA 23223. One-man show (Pete), so I would counsel patience regarding communication &c. Talented guy, as far as I can tell still in operation.

2. Edward's Auto Care, 4123 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23230. This appears to be the new (general auto repair) business operating on the site of the old Twin Star BMW/SAAB. Google Street View shows a number of SAABs still on the lot, so I'm guessing there's been some continuity of experience. Twin Star always seemed to have older 900s around.

3. European Cars of Williamsburg, 421 E Rochambeau Dr, Williamsburg, VA 23188 (eurocarswmbg.com). This is a general European shop. Owner is a very experienced Greek guy named Gus Fotiadis. They worked on a '97 900 SE for me as well as a '99 9-3 SE convertible. Not sure how they would do with older 900s, but the website claims that one of the techs is a SAAB specialist.

All three of these did good work for me. Other than that, I vaguely recall once having to get service (convertible top motor, I think?) from what was once Suttle Cadillac SAAB (now just Cadillac) in Newport News, and them being fairly hapless.

Hope this is helpful,

Andre 9000
