Until the reason it's still in reverse is there's a reverse lock out. Take the rest of the Ignition cylinder housing out flip it upside down and you will see it disassemble the lockout and you will not be stuck in reverse anymore. Just got done going through the whole break and clutch on a 1985 SPG that's been setting for 20 years. You will want to replace the clutch slave cylinder hopefully it's the original slave cylinder just rebuild it. Buy a new clutch master cylinder and hydraulic line and replace all of it trust me you will want to replace all of it. We also had to buy a brake master cylinder as well luckily we found one. It took several weeks to get the pistons on stuck on the 2 front calipers but I think after a bunch of PV blaster and me taking the calipers apart and turning the emergency break portion back in that help loosen things up. Best of luck. You will have to take a 11 mm socket and grind little points on it to get the special 3 Nuts that hold the Ignition cylinder housing off of the body of the car. Let us know how it goes.
