Proceed with caution: There's a lot that needs attention regarding the fuel tank and pump. I've done this job recently with a 1986 SPG. The pump can be found on line. I think yours is the larger pump. The 85 has the pre-pump. They are readily available as is the round pick up screen. The devil lies in all the other stuff that needs attention. The rubber bellows holding the main pump turns to mush over time. They are getting hard to find new. There are two sizes of pumps and the bellows needs to be matched. You have four grommets that are most likely deteriorated. Two large and two small. MCS makes a replacement set. Bill at SAABits in the UK sells originals. You have a check valve on the passenger side that is attached to flexible hose that tends to deteriorate and leak. I cut the flex section off and installed a new flex line and universal check valve. The small wire nuts on the pre-pump will most likely be very corroded.
It took me a full month to drop the tank, research parts and reassemble. I'm a hobbyist that only works on my car in my spare time.
Let us know if you dive in. I'm going to SOC, but not taking a car.
