The radiator isn't made of cast iron or anything. You may get it with a cold chisel or tin snips or large diagonal cutters, just sorta maul through it like a black bear mauls through a backpacker's food cache.

That said, using a hacksaw "between" the fan and rad will cut through a little of the fan plastic with its kerf, but will not destroy the fan, merely it will reduce its thickness. It's ok! The plastic is pretty thick. You can afford to lose a little.
