Hi Landjet,
Just seeing your post now; I've been focused on work for a while :(. Keeping me from what's important. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that you were spot on: the wastegate cap needed to be rotated to allow the tube to travel below the wastegate. I got the tube to connect, but I seem to be having the same issue that I started with before the wastegate rebuild. Low to no power boost. Hopefully I just need to adjust the wastegate valve nut to reach the proper pressure. Worst case, do I have a turbo rebuild/replacement in my future?
I forget how, but I did have the wastegate blocked (maybe tightened the adjustment nut too much?) and achieved unlimited boost. Seems like the car was set up to shut the turbo down to prevent over boost, or maybe what I experienced was just over boost. Either way, I don't think blocking off the wastegate is a viable scenario, but I may look into it . . .
Thanks for the advice!
Mark
