Thanks very much. Please see the two screen shots attached.
What I understand is ... that either or both the combination fuel/temperature instrument (item 4 8581076) or the conductive foil (item 6 8552382) could be at fault. In other words, the conductive foil drives the gauge needles, with electrical inputs from the fuel level and temperature sensors.
Is this correct ?? Also, since eSaabParts only goes back to 1986, my assumption is that 1986 instrument parts will work in my 1984 900. Is this correct ??
If yes to both questions, then the treasure hunt for parts begins.

Also, as long as I get things disassembled, then I am also going to replace the Tachometer/Clock, because the clock is not working. As above, I assume that the fault is either with item 17 (8582686) and/or item 18 (9553488).

Last, can you also suggest how to disassemble and assemble the instrument cluster, or suggest sources for this ?
