I feel your pain. I'm right in the middle of fooling around with my 900 clutch/hydraulics and NONE of it is fun. See post above...
I haven't encountered your problem so I can't offer much. Two questions.
1) Have you tried just fitting the slave in the car? IE, without the whole assembly?
2) You cut out the old extended slave, right? How exactly did you do that? Sawzall down through it maybe? Did that process cause damage to the slave cylinder seating area? Can you feel anything down there? A burr or something?
