Thanks for the enormous reply, Robert. I'm going to try to ad a little more R-134a, and will post findings.
RE the work that was done, 3 years ago I replaced the condensor and switched to R-134a, changing and lubricating all O-rings. The system worked great. This past spring the compressor spilled all of its oil, and I bought a new replacement, along with a new receiver/drier and expansion valve. I had to use the manifold from my old compressor, because the new one did not have charging ports tapped. The local shop charged it, and indeed said they put in 48 oz. and dye to check for leaks. They found no leaks, but a week later I saw green fluid bubbling out of the high side charging adapter. It apparently was not tight onto the remains of the shrader valve beneath. I have no clue how much refrigerant I lost, but I noticed no change in the cooling.
I've found nothing wrong with the ACC system, no fault codes and the mixing flap works. The ECON LO temps are usually somewhat above ambient temps, but I've always thought that was normal. I have found that with the intake open and fan on high, air is pushed OUT the intake. I thought that was strange, but I don't know if it's normal. Inside the fan feels fine.
Does anyone have a diagram of the ACC? The drawing on the Townsend site is the best I've seen, but that doesn't show air flow or flaps
Thanks again -- Erwin
