I have entered myself into almost the same situation you have described, but i got a little better of a deal than that; price definately seems high. I had to do windshield, $215 installed at my shop, tires are coming, did brakes and rotors this weekend at $160 for the front, ordered jt downpipe- am replacing it next weekend, along with the rest of the system. Replaced the a-arm and sway bar bushings with poly; they were completely shot. I am replacing all motor mounts and tranny mounts this weekend also, as I can lift the motor 2" or so w/o resistence.
Long of the short is, i think there are 2 ways to look at this- you would be buying a car that you know needs work, and once it is done you will know it is all right, because you did it yourself. You can spend more on something nicer, but may still get surprised with repairs that you did not see. I have joked on this board about giving mine away, but really am still happy to have it, and think I will be very happy once I get it all set. Just my 2 cents, good luck.
