1. NAPA Gold: No preferences, yet. More like convenience - my local NAPA is less than 2 miles away and the price is the same as the P1. I guess, partly, the talk on BITOG about flow issues with the P1 on Corvettes might have played a factor, too - still, not very scientific!
2. New Pick-up: Well, I had no intention of buying a new one - the old one was running great and it only just turned 100k miles. However, there was no money involved up front - just sign on the dotted line, and I drove out with a new truck. The payments are only $260/mo and the cost was reduced from $19k down to $12k with the trade and incentive/discounts. It's a base model Silverado - 5 speed, V6, short-bed.
3. OLS monitor: I didn't know it could be calibrated for both. All I could gather from the owners' manual is that it functions via temperature and mileage. I didn't bother asking the salesman, maybe I should ask the service manager? I only used synthetic with the the other Chevy, which was a small-block V8, automatic.
4. Do you really think it'd be ok to run the LM, 0W-40, in the truck - it specifies 5W-30 in the owners' manual.
