I have had no TCS problems at all on my 93. No specific troubles at all that are not normal wear and tear with the exception of having to replace the climate control unit. total DIY.
Bought mine w/ 90k for 5 grand. I consider it a steal. Yes, you are limited some on the mods, and there is the concern with the transaxle, but if you are not going to beat it on the track then don't sweat it.
If $6900 can get you a newer Aero, by all means. IF you can score it for 6k or less, grab and be happy.
